Since January 2018, ICI embarked on bringing together a team of clinicians, researchers, and patient advocates in gatherings for Cancer Care & Hematology Delivery Workshop. During the Workshops, the teams discussed, presented and shared clinical scenarios illustrating team-based care models.
The Teams in Cancer Care Delivery project will focus on several goals:
Exploring team principles:
Mutual performance monitoring
Shared problem-solving and decision-making
Planning, goal-setting, and role definition
Investigating how team principles can can be applied at all stages across the cancer care continuum:
At the end of life
Providing the clinical oncology community with practical strategies for organizing effective healthcare teams.
Identifying areas that will lay the foundation for team research in cancer care delivery. These areas include taxonomy, operational definitions, and measurement.
